GFG Network Banner

Global Foundation for Girls (GFG) is an intermediary, advocate, resource provider, and network for community organizations that work with girls, gender-diverse youth, birthing persons, children in crisis and their families.

We currently have four funds:

  • Gender-Based Violence
  • Birth & Health Justice
  • Children in Crisis
  • Family Justice

5 Reasons to consider applying:

  1. Our network is free and used for grantmaking solicitation
  2. Our Grantmaking uses a grantee-centered approach with flexible funds where possible
  3. We support smaller BIPOC organizations, including start-ups that do not traditionally have access to larger foundations
  4. Groups in our network get access to a range of other services, including customized and free resources, trainings, and network opportunities. GFG will amplify your organization to larger foundations to ensure your voice is heard in spaces where it may not have been previously
  5. The application includes a few simple questions that will take no more than a few minutes of your time

Criteria

GFG practices trust-based and grantee-centered philanthropy.
We currently work within eight different countries (Brazil, Bali/Indonesia, Haiti, Uganda, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Trinidad, and The United States) and are always open to expanding networks In current and new Countries, as resources allow. Please see the link to the application below. We anticipate that the application will take 10-15 minutes to complete.

  • We prioritize BIPOC-led organizations and groups led by women, young women, girls, trans, gender fluid, non-binary, and/or intersex persons
  • Organizations should have a 501c3 or be fiscally sponsored
  • We are interested in hearing from both Adult and Youth-led organizations; GFG defines youth as aged 27 and under
  • We prioritize organizations with a budget size under 1 million in revenue providing direct service that improves the lives of young women, girls, and trans and/or intersex youth at local, national, regional, or international levels.
  • We seek groups that use Gender & Racial Justice and a Black Feminist lens. This spans a range of frameworks, including Inclusive and Collective Organizing, Movement Building, Anti-Oppressive lens, and Decolonizing methods.
  • We would especially like to hear from groups who work in at least one or all of the following areas with girls, youth, gender-fluid folks, and birthing persons:
    • Gender-Based Violence
    • Birth & Health Justice Equity (related to infant & maternal health/reproductive and gender health needs)
    • Children in Crisis
    • Family & Parenting Justice
