Olivia earned her Master’s in Environmental Conservation & Biology with a keen interest in women’s justice in the climate change movement. Since then, Olivia has dedicated her personal and professional life to gender, race, and class equity. As a full time employee at Barnard College instructing Biology, Olivia draws inspiration from bell hook’s to integrate anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and liberatory pedagogy into her STEM classrooms. This includes changing curriculum to include historical and social antecedes, fostering inclusiveness and creating a sense of belonging and well-being for all of her individual students. Her passion towards her students, especially her BIPOC, first-generation and low-income students, catalyzed her interest in joining grassroot organizations that support smaller, BIPOC organizations whose mission is to combat gender-based violence justice, birth justice & health equity, and family and parenting justice.
