Ever since Nusrat (she/they) grew aware of the injustices in the United States and around the world, she has dedicated a part of her life to fighting for gender equality and racial justice. With a bachelor’s degree in women and gender studies from Hunter College, she became a gender justice leader of a nonprofit organization catered to the South Asian diaspora and later a community organizer for an environmental-based non-profit. She has been a part of the non-profit world for 5-6 years, where she has gained skills in community building, leadership, and advocacy. Their dedication to gender justice work led them to Global Foundation for Girls, where she is a volunteer.
In their transformative healing moments, Nusrat prepares homemade coffee or tea for herself before she delves into a good book, she journals for self-development and shares small, fun moments with their family.
